Charitable Giving: KIVA and Ripple Africa

It's been a good month for donations here at Mash Towers - as we've just made another donation to the amazing Kiva initiative, as well as having twelve fruit trees planted in Malawi, Africa, as part of Fruitful Offices' work with Ripple Africa, which you can find out more about here.

It’s been a good month for donations here at Mash Towers – as we’ve just made another donation to the amazing Kiva initiative, as well as having twelve fruit trees planted in Malawi, Africa, as part of Fruitful Offices’ work with Ripple Africa, which you can find out more about here.

This month’s Kiva loan of $925 went to Angela Ramona: a 25 year old entrepreneur selling cosmetics and beauty products in Ecuador.

Angela set up her business two years ago, selling door to door.

Growing up in a family without many economic resources, Angela wasn’t able to continue her education beyond primary school. As a single mother, it’s been a struggle to provide her child with an education – but her dream is that they’ll grow up to be a professional.

She currently sells door to door in the mornings, before staying at home in the afternoon to look after her child. However, she also has to work weekends, taking them with her to collect payment from her customers at their homes.

This loan means a lot to Angela, as it’ll allow her to┬árenovate a space in her house for her growing business – meaning she can continue to sell in the afternoons, when she’s at home with her child.
