Katie Lowe Experiential Staffing

Mashers: I Need You!

Mashers: hello! I’m Katie, and I’m a brand new member of the Mash team. So new, in fact, that I’m still managing to get lost between the kitchen and the toilet – and as a newbie Londoner, I’m allowing a good two hours for a thirty minute journey to the office.

Mashers: hello! I’m Katie, and I’m a brand new member of the Mash team. So new, in fact, that I’m still managing to get lost between the kitchen and the toilet – and as a newbie Londoner, I’m allowing a good two hours for a thirty minute journey to the office.

So, you get the picture. I’m very much new.

My whole role is something that’s new to Mash, but should (hopefully) make it easier for you to communicate with us. I’m what we’re calling a Brand Curator & Community Manager – so I’ll be the person on the other end of our Twitter, Facebook, and other social media accounts. You’ll also often spot me out and about at events up and down the country, taking photos, making videos, tweeting, and sometimes even pitching in to lend a hand.

We’ll also be introducing some rather lovely regional Mash Hang Outs over the coming months to give us the chance to meet as many Mashers as possible from locations further afield, so I’ll see a lot of you there – and when I’m not doing any of these things, I’m likely to be drinking coffee, laughing at bad jokes, and wowing people with my appalling dancing.

Seriously. It’s really bad.

I’m very excited to get going, and get meeting Mashers face to face. I had a quick chat with a few of you yesterday on the phone, and fortunately each and every one of you kindly overlooked my bumbling, I-have-no-idea-what-I’m-doing, please-forgive-me-it’s-my-first-day phone manner – so consider this a shout out  to Isla, Ben, Saskia and Rachel for being so sweet!

It’s also worth pointing out that I’m pretty new to the industry. Previously, I’ve been working in digital media for a recruitment agency, but promotional staffing is a whole new world to me – and I’m looking for all the help I can get. I’m devouring trade magazines, keeping my ear to the ground here in the office, and noseying at your Moogle profiles – but as your Community Manager, it’d be great for me to learn a bit about the world of experiential staffing as you see it.

Because the whole reason I’m here, in the Mash office, is for you – to be the voice of Mash, but also to be your voice to the Mash team here (who, I should add, each individually sent me a welcome email – aren’t they sweet?) so anything I can do to make your experience with us is easier, simpler, or just more fun, is fine and dandy by me.

With that in mind, if you’ve got any thoughts, tips, tricks, or just general ideas that you think I ought to know, or that we should be working on here at Mash, I’d be very interested to hear ‘em. You can get hold of me at katiel@mashmarketing.co.uk, and our Facebook and Twitter pages – where we’ll also be announcing the dates and locations of our fabulous Mash Hang Outs. Having spent a day hanging out with the team myself, I can safely say they’ll be worth a visit!
