Ahead of the highly anticipated opening of Samsung KX – we are excited to introduce you to some of the incredible staff you can meet when visiting London’s new home of culture and innovation.
Meet Melissa. From running ultramarathons to teaching both primary and special education needs, Melissa describes her role as Experience Manager at Samsung KX.
Melissa, Experience Manager, Samsung KX
Tell us about your training experience: “I don’t think I have ever experienced training and recruitment with so much investment in people before this journey. The training made everyone feel valued and really like they were a part of something incredibly special. The collaboration between Mash and Samsung was and still is absolutely fantastic. Mash have been there since day one and constantly have our backs to help us every step of the way. The Samsung team have then inspired us with their vision, their immersive technology and have given us the freedom to be ourselves.”
Tell us about your role: “I look after and work with the team in the space whose day to day job is to bring the experiences to life for our visitors. It’s unique because there is simply no other job out there like it! It’s very refreshing to work in such a diverse team and I am learning so much from my colleagues every day. Our personalities bring us together and the energy between everyone is amazing.”
“What we do at Samsung KX is different. We are not a shop and my team are not sales associates. We are here to give you an experience, to showcase some of our best technology, our future innovations and some really really cool experiences. We exist to allow our visitors to see the potential of our products and we exist to provide a hub for a local community. You can even just pop in for a great coffee!”
Tell us about yourself: “My professional life has consisted of experience in teaching both in primary and special educational needs and also in hospitality and retail. I like to be busy and I have always enjoyed sport. I was a competitive swimmer as a child until I was about 16. More recently, I got into running and have completed multiple endurance races including full and half marathons and ultramarathon events.”
Melissa is one of a large team of staff the Mash team have recruited and trained at Samsung’s space in Coal Drops Yard. You can go and meet the staff and see the latest Samsung experiences during the week or over the weekend.
