The World Premiere of ‘Potentials‘ by Dominic Mitchell – Winner of Papatango’s new writing competition.

“Potentials” is a raucous black comedy about the nature of success and the extreme measures some people will go to achieve it.

In just over an hour Benny Elliot will be thirty years old. He is a talented, yet failing musician, a loyal friend and a frustrated employee of HMV. His old university friends Max, Frank and Karen are coming over to celebrate his birthday and ensure Benny achieves his ultimate potential.

Award winning playwright Dominic Mitchell’s Potentials opens at the Tristan Bates Theatre in the heart of London’s West End on 5 May 2009 running for 3 weeks until 23 May.

Potentials was chosen as the winning play from over 100 entries in the PapaTango and Tristan Bates New Writing Competition, selected by a panel of judges comprising of industry professionals:

Jeremy Kingston (Times critic), Ruth Carney (Associate Director Sheffield Theatres), Charlie Westenra (Kiss of the Spider Woman) & Don McCamphill(Wayfarer, BBC)

Potentials is produced by award winning theatre ensemble PapaTango, who are dedicated to new writing. With a growing acclaim from prominent figures in the industry, PapaTango’s recent followers have said:
