What's It Like to Intern at Mash?

Here at Mash HQ, we like to welcome interns a few times a year to help them to get a bit of experience in the world of promotional and event staffing - and our most recent addition has been the lovely Natalie O'Neill, who's been with us for the last two weeks. She's been an absolute star, getting stuck in and proving to be a very valuable member of the team indeed!

Here at Mash HQ, we like to welcome interns a few times a year to help them to get a bit of experience in the world of promotional and event staffing – and our most recent addition has been the lovely Natalie O’Neill, who’s been with us for the last two weeks. She’s been an absolute star, getting stuck in and proving to be a very valuable member of the team indeed!

She’s very kindly written a guest blog for us, to give you an idea of what it’s like to intern at Mash HQ – so check out her thoughts below, and please join us in thanking Natalie for a fabulous two weeks of help!

Over to you, Natalie…

Natalie

I have only had the pleasure of working with Mash for a mere two weeks and, although it’s been short, it’s been one of the most eye-opening, useful ten days that I’ve experienced since deciding I’d like to pursue a career in business. More specifically, my interest lies in small, innovative start-ups just like Mash, so naturally I was thrilled to take on the challenge.

During my time here I’ve had the opportunity to work in several areas of the company, ranging from the very beginnings of a job (thank you, Amanda!), to making direct calls to staffers who are rapidly becoming familiar faces. It is safe to say I am now master of the telephone lines! One aspect that has stood out to me from day one has been the sheer personal involvement the Mash team have with their staff; they pick only the best and it is clear both the team and the staff are passionate about the field they’re working in.

Having been in several similar placements, it is easy for me to say that above all, I have felt most valuable whilst being part of the Mash team. I am so glad that I have been of real use during my time here, being able to share the same level of personal interaction with our staff and the devout care that goes into each booking. The office dynamic is without a doubt one of the best I’ve encountered, there’s always that same buzz even despite the sometimes fantastic-borderline-dodgy Spotify playlist (Meatloaf, ‘Blurred Lines’ on repeat…).

Although I still don’t know and have not decided the exact career I’d like to end up in, my two weeks at Mash have reassured me that my next three years studying Business at Cardiff University will most certainly take me in the right direction. Mash has inspired me to follow suit and aim to be the best in the field; knowing I could be working with a similarly clued-in, intelligent team, I can’t wait to see what other opportunities are out there.

Thanks Natalie – and good luck in your future career. We have no doubt you’ll be amazing!
